A first-floor house extension, garage conversion and internal alterations to a detached property in Bearsden. The Clients were looking to gain additional bedrooms above the existing garage as well as converting the garage into a play room or spare bedroom if needed. Internal alterations also create an open-plan kitchen/dining space that allows for dual aspect to the front and back of the house. Contemporary external finishes of black timber cladding and zinc roof cladding are proposed and deliberate to show a striking separation from the existing dwelling. The existing dormer is to be clad to match the extension to indicate a visual connection. DCN provided sketch options and 3D visuals that allowed for discussions with the client to help refine and alter the plans to suit their needs.
